Were just gonna jump right into it!
The Indianapolis Colts opened up training camp right outside Westfield, IN, on a hot muggy wednesday. Head Coach Frank Reich was not in attendance due to COVID-19 restrictions. Although the league has tighter guidelines this year, they’re still required to get the shot before the season starts. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has encouraged all 32 teams to get updated or fail to serve with your team.
All the codes are clear about the backpack policy/clear bag will be in affect at all Training Camps. The season starts today and having practice open to the public after a long year layoff, can add to excitement to another fantastic year of Colts football. If you recall the Colts traded two draft picks to the Philadephia Eagles for Quarterback Carson Wentz, who will be re-united with Head Coach Frank Reich.
The departure of Jacob Brissett to the Miami Dolphins making room for the Colts number of QB’s. Sam Ehlinger, Jalen Morton and Jacob Easton are fighting for the number 2 spot to back up Carson Wentz. The NFL Draft came with some exciting new players who showed up today with the will to understand this game we call the NFL.
Michigan’s DE Kwity Paye will make an impact his first year being a leader and defensive nose runner. His style and play reminds you of Hall of Famer “Robert Mathis” who happens to create havic on opposing Quarterbacks.
A heathly TY Hilton can give any Quarterback smiles throwing to this barn-burner. Last years stats for TY wasnt the All-Pro best season-762 yards total, 93 receptions, only 11 big plays were made from Hilton coming off ankle injury/surgery a year ago. We can imagine the numbers he will produce this year with a more mobile Quarterback.
Jonathan Taylor second round pick number 41 coming out of Wisconsin and 2x Doak Walker Award (2019, 2018) shown the NFL what he can do when the ball is in his hands. Not only did Taylor rush for at least 1,110 yards from scrimmage becoming only the seventh rookie in the league to accomplish this – scoring at least 10 rushing touchdowns for the colts. With Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines returning with the addition of a fresh healthy Marlon Mack who is another 1,000 yard rusher.
The defense looks solid and even better than last year only losing a few peices of the puzzle and not to mention engaging in good Draft picks GM Chris Ballard and staff made. Looking forward to an exciting year covering the colts and Head Coach Frank Reich.
